Release Notes

4.0 – Spark Latest

  • Hello there! We have some exciting news to share with you about our latest update to our Figma library. Our team has worked hard to enhance and add new features to make your design process smoother. Here are the release notes for the latest version, Flare 4.0:
  • We have updated the structure of all design tokens to make managing and using them more efficient.
  • We are introducing color variables to keep with the most advanced Figma features. Old color styles are marked as deprecated. Learn more about variables in our documentation site and with the Variables Playground in our Learn section in Figma.
  • We have updated the naming of our typography styles to align with the design tokens, making it easier to keep text styling consistent across your designs. Styles with older naming are marked as deprecated.
  • We are introducing Layout Grid styles for layouts and containers, making it easier to design layouts quickly and efficiently.
  • We have added new Figma components to align with the Web Component Library, including Context Menu, Phone Input, Time-Zone Picker, and Blank State. In addition, we updated the Color Picker.
  • We added a new component: Segmented Control.
  • These updates will make your design process more efficient and enjoyable. Thank you for using the Spark design system library, and we look forward to seeing what you create with it!

2.0 – Ember

  • ⚡️ Spark: Ember 2.0 Release
  • Spark delivers the Ember 2.0 design language and Figma component library to product designers.
  • Ember 2.0 is a modern, accessible design system for building digital products and experiences, with tooling and guidance on color, typography, spacing, object styles, iconography, and design tokens. It represents a complete visual refresh of the design system, delivering the ethos of Genesys UX Design.
  • Additional improvements to Figma components' architecture include additional property controls and slots for local customization. This increases the components' flexibility, and we anticipate it will reduce the need to detach.
  • The updated features require product teams to redesign product UIs and begin an adoption plan to comply with Ember 2.0 standards.
